Reading can be described as understanding something that you see.Reading is not always about books, newspapers, magazines, or even texts. Reading can also be something such as reading the situation. But here, we will discuss about reading as something that involves text.

 Reading in the past is one of the best way to obtain knowledge. Nowadays reading something is  not the only way we can acquire knowledge, there are already a lot of media such as video and radio to get information. To read something in these days is seen as a last choice to get information, people often underestimate it.

            Reading habit in the past is the habit of people that want to get information or want to do something that is enjoyable. Books are considered as the best media in the past to transfer both something to enjoy or something to know. Books in the past are considered a very valuable item that only the rich can get hands of it. Books were hard to make because they needed to copy each paragraphs, sentences, words, and symbols by hand to make a single copy of book. People that copy books are considered people that has a lot of knowledge, because they also read the book.

            But everything changed when the printing technique were introduced. The printing technique allows us to reduce the cost of making books. The technology that brought us to this bright future.

            But, nowadays the technology we are using makes us harder to read. Our nowadays technology encourage us to venture through all of our sense to get information, whether it is the sense of listening or feeling. Technology brought us to a bright centuries of reading but also brought us to a dim years of not reading.
